🚩 Flags Lowered Statewide in Memory of NY Thruway Worker Vincent Giammarva

Flags at the Perry Duryea State Office Building in Hauppauge, as well as across New York State, have been lowered in a solemn gesture of remembrance for Vincent Giammarva, a New York Thruway Authority highway worker. Giammarva tragically lost his life in a work zone incident upstate when a truck failed to adhere to the 'Slow Down & Move Over' law. This law mandates drivers to reduce speed and change lanes when approaching vehicles with flashing lights on the roadside, including maintenance and emergency vehicles.
