In a strategic move poised to invigorate its agent sales division, Zillow has announced the appointment of Soumya Tulloss as the new Senior Vice President of Agent Sales. With a stellar track record from her tenure at PayPal and other tech giants, Tulloss is set to lead Zillow’s efforts in enhancing its flagship products, Zillow Showcase and Zillow Premier Agent.

A New Era of Leadership at Zillow

Seattle-based Zillow, a key player in the residential real estate sector, is embracing a fresh wave of leadership under Tulloss. Her role will be pivotal as Zillow continues to innovate and refine its digital solutions for real estate professionals. The company aims to integrate Tulloss’s expertise in driving revenue and growth into its suite of agent tools, ensuring these resources effectively meet the evolving needs of its user base.

Zillow SVP of Real Estate Software, Jun Choo, highlighted the significance of this leadership change. “By placing Soumya at the helm of our agent sales division, we are underscoring our commitment to advancing our software and digital solutions,” Choo stated. “Her proven ability to accelerate sales and enhance customer experiences aligns perfectly with our goals for innovation and strategic investment in our agent community.”

Tulloss: A Proven Catalyst for Growth

Tulloss brings a wealth of experience to her new role, with a career spanning over 15 years in sales and marketing. Her journey began with a pivotal internship at Google, where she significantly boosted traffic for Google Maps. From there, she advanced through roles at Deutsche Bank Securities, PayPal, and several high-growth tech companies.

Notably, Tulloss drove Twilio’s revenue growth by a staggering 3,000%, elevating the company's revenue from $89 million in 2014 to $2.8 billion by 2021. Her impact at Deliverr, which achieved $2.1 billion in revenue before its acquisition by Shopify, further underscores her ability to scale businesses rapidly.

In her new role at Zillow, Tulloss is enthusiastic about applying her growth expertise to the real estate sector. “I’m thrilled to contribute to Zillow’s mission of facilitating homeownership for more people,” she said. “My goal is to empower the more than a million agents in the residential real estate industry, enabling them to serve their clients more effectively and efficiently.”

Navigating a Shifting Real Estate Landscape

Tulloss’s appointment arrives at a pivotal moment for Zillow. The company is navigating an evolving real estate landscape marked by intensified competition and regulatory changes, such as the recent dismantling of the National Association of Realtors’ Participation Rule.

During Zillow’s recent second-quarter earnings call, co-founder and co-executive chair Rich Barton and CEO Jeremy Wacksman outlined their vision for the company’s future. They emphasized the importance of integrating technologies like Real-Time Touring and Zillow Showcase to create a seamless transaction experience for both agents and consumers.

Barton, reflecting on the company's ambitions, likened their vision to making real estate transactions as straightforward as purchasing a coffee. “We’re making strides toward simplifying the process, aiming for a frictionless experience that mirrors the ease of buying a latte,” Barton noted.

As Zillow forges ahead, Tulloss’s leadership will be crucial in steering the company through these transformative times, ensuring that its agent sales strategy aligns with its broader mission to revolutionize the real estate experience.
