Worlds collide as Tiago Lemos celebrates his NM 808 x Roland collab shoe by linking up with respected DJ/Producer, Cut Chemist before putting the kicks to use in the streets. Check it out:

"Since its global introduction in 1980, the TR-808, commonly called 'the 808,' has shaped the creation of various music genres, paving the way for the hip-hop and techno movements for nearly a half century," New Balance mentions in the description. "The machine’s impact on the genre has been likened to the Stratocaster’s impact on rock and roll–it’s difficult to imagine one without the other. Lemos, who grew up skateboarding in the rugged streets of Brazil, was heavily influenced by videos that featured hip-hop produced with the 808."

Tiago comes full circle by paying homage to the iconic beat machine with the release of his NM 808 x Roland colorway and, as we see, even made a few beats of his own in the process. Honestly, that looked like a lot of fun and actually sounded pretty proper. Do I want my own TR-808!?

Oh, and fun fact: Roland’s TR-808 Rhythm Composer was actually the inspiration behind the name of Tiago Lemos’ second signature New Balance Numeric shoe. Pretty rad, right?

The NM 808 X Roland collab shoes are available at finer skate shops worldwide as well as the New Balance website. Shout out to Tiago and Cut Chemist! Two absolute masters of their craft.
