John Lucero is a class act. He's a pioneer, a legend, an artist, a goofball, a historian, a hall-of-famer, but most of all—a SKATEBOARDER! Basically, what I'm trying to get at is, guys like Lucero have stories for days.

He's slapped curbs. He's ripped ramps. He's built brands. And he recently hopped on Instagram for the perfect blend of storytelling and a rad new graphic reveal:

"The original Ant logo was created in 1990. Lucero Ltd started in 1988. After a few years I decided to take my name off the brand, and stay in the background and restart as Black Label," Lucero recently shared on Instagram. "The idea was to replace the Big Lively Elephant , with a Tiny Dead Ant . It was a fun change of pace, but eventually the Elephant returned by popular demand. Hahaha! A little Label History! Love, John."

So rad! Lucero has been having fun and doing things his way since 1988 and that fire is burning inside of him as bright as ever these days. The new Ant boards come in 9.0” and 9.5” Custom Eggs. As well as 8.25”, 8.5”, 8.75” and 9.0” Standard Cuts. And you don't need me to tell you how crisp these things look. I'm a sucker for colored veneers, so these are calling my name.

Head into your local shop and demand these new planks! Or, if you need to, hop on the Label site and max out your card. Be careful, though. This new Ant graphic is sick, but you know that Black Label is stacked with must-have graphics and shapes. Good thing it's payday!

Most importantly, thanks for the history lesson, all the good times and decades of stoke, John! We could listen to stories like this all day long.
