Traphill woman charged with attempted murder

A 39-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly stabbing a man on April 26.

Selena Lovette was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, misdemeanor domestic violence, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and misdemeanor child abuse.

According to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest stems from a domestic dispute at 224 Lovette Lane in the Traphill Community. Deputies were sent there in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies learned the victim was en route to Hugh Chatham Hospital in a personal vehicle.

After further investigation deputies learned this was a domestic situation and Lovette was charged and arrested.

The individual who was stabbed has been identified as 42-year old Joel Spicer. Authorities said he was treated and released the same day.
