The Best Sliders in America Can Be Found Inside this Tiny New Jersey Restaurant

There is no shortage of iconic food establishments in the state of New Jersey. Old-school and family-owned, these beloved businesses remain popular community staples and they are often regarded as being the place to go if you're looking for unbeatable, delicious food.

White Manna in Hackensack is one of those places. A trip to this iconic Bergen County institution is like taking a step back in time. The restaurant's exterior boasts vintage signage and inside, you'll find a no-frills service counter complete with vintage metal stools and a few hard-working cooks.

White Manna got its start back in 1939 at the World's Fair and later moved to Hackensack in 1946. The restaurant quickly developed a reputation for its fresh burger patties made from extra lean ground beef, cooked to perfection with onions and cheese, and served on a Martin's Potato Roll. Today, they are by far one of the most celebrated dining establishments in the state and have been featured on countless television shows over the past few decades.

As popular as this spot is, you can definitely expect a bit of a crowd, especially during lunchtime and weekends. The wait, however, is well worth it. There are hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double hamburgers, double cheeseburgers, steak sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, crinkle cut fries, and milkshakes offered here but by far the most popular menu item are the single cheeseburgers served with pickles and onions. A classic no-fuss meal, these sliders are served at just $2.20 each and you can even order a dozen at a time for just $22.

White Manna is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 am until 5:30 pm and Thursday through Saturday from 11 am until 8:40 pm. On Sundays, the restaurant's hours are 12 pm until 5 pm. White Manna also owns and operates a diner location in Jersey City that remains open until 11 pm every day of the week.
