All around New Jersey you'll find historical attractions, fascinating museums and poignant sites from American history.

We're lucky to have such unique artifacts in our state and recently, a popular living history museum is asking the public for help.

Allaire Village is located within New Jersey's Allaire State Park in Wall Township, Monmouth County.

The property was initially known as an Indian ceremonial ground prior to 1650. Today, it is a charming preserved village that showcases what life was like in New Jersey during early Industrial American times.

The village contains a variety of real historic buildings complete with interactive displays, hands-on-activities, and costumed period actors in 13 historic homes, craft shops, a chapel, a store, a bakery, and exhibit halls.

It is an absolutely fascinating look back in time but sadly, the village is closing until August 6th in order to save money.

According to a post made on their official Instagram page, the village has been "negatively impacted by the economy, rising inflation costs, unprecedented weather, and limited grant funding."

In order to save money and to continue to operate in the Fall, the village has made the tough decision to close for a month this Summer.

They are now urging any and all history lovers to consider donating to keep Allaire Village alive so future generations can visit and enjoy this historic landmark.
