We all know places like San Fransisco and New York City have long been havens for queer folks.

But what about America's smaller communities? In between the urban hubs, social progress is being made in America’s smaller towns and cities as well. Even in places where you’d least expect it.

The travel site known as Far & Wide has compiled a list of America's most LGBTQ-Friendly small towns and one town in Pennsylvania has made the list.

And no, it's not Philly or Pittsburgh. It's New Hope.

New Hope has long been a community of inclusivity thanks to its thriving artist population that dates back to the 1930s.

Since then, New Hope has become a unique and popular travel destination. It's location along the Delaware River makes it a scenic town complete with plenty of art galleries, eclectic shops, and beautiful restaurants.

The town's pride parade begins where New Jersey’s first same-sex marriages were performed in 2013, at Lambertville City Hall and continues down Bridge Street into Pennsylvania, making it the only Pride Parade that crosses a state line.

Following the parade, there is an annual Pride Fair at the end of South Main St that's open to the public in the Legion parking lot. There are vendors and live entertainment to bring everyone together in the hopes of celebrating diversity.

Have you ever attended the New Hope Pride Parade? Let us know in the comments.
