In this article, we'll be discussing one of the most unique restaurants in all of Virginia that you simply have to try if you haven't yet–Döner Bistro in Leesburg.

This rustic German eatery is undoubtedly one-of-a-kind and often referred to as one of Virginia's most authentic spots.

Döner started out as a food truck in the Virginia Village shopping center back in 2006. It then operated for more than 11 years on Harrison Street at the Mighty Midget Kitchen. In 2019, it officially returned home to the Virginia Village shopping center.

Get ready for a full experience once you step inside. From the German radio to a bilingual staff and a 3,000-square-foot outdoor garden complete with beer and wine imported from Germany, families fill this place to the brim almost every night of the week.

The menu here includes German food specialties like giant pretzels, schnitzel, sausage, and by far the most popular dish, the infamous döner–a Turkish delicacy that has become a staple in the owner's Timo and Nicole Winkel’s native Germany that is best described as a handheld meat cone.

But that's just the beginning. In addition to incredible food, you'll also find an incredible ambiance here. From the friendly and attentive staff to live music performances, you'll quickly realize that an outing at Döner Bistro is so much more than just a meal.

The restaurant is Thursday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. To learn more, be sure to check out their official Facebook page here.
