Greenville's Sandi Morris failed to qualify for the United States Olympic women's pole vault team in the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Morris, who entered the qualifying finals ranked No. 2 among Americans and No. 7 in the world in the event, elected to pass the first two rounds (4.28 and 4.43 meters) and cleared 4.53, 4.63 and 4.68 meters on her first attempts. She faced trouble when she failed to clear 4.73 meters, the Olympic standard, to finish in fourth place.

Nettles announced on Friday on social media that he has committed to Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.
