Two arrested in connection to Upstate woman's death

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has announced two arrests in connection to an Upstate death investigation.

As we previously reported, a woman, now identified as 40-year-old Colleen D'Ortona, was found dead on Velo Way in Travelers Rest just before 8am Tuesday morning.

A death investigation was launched, and investigators found evidence linking both 39-year-old Michael Robert Clarkson and 38-year-old Cherith Crown to the death.

Clarkson was innitially identified as a person of interest due to a domestic relationship with D'Ortona and was taken into custody after fleeing from his Easley business prior to the execution of a search warrant.

Clarkson is charged with murder and Crown is charged with accessory after the fact of murder and obstruction. Both are currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center. Additional charges are expected.
