One dead in head-on crash near Arcadia
ARCADIA — A head-on crash caused one fatality near Arcadia early Tuesday, according to the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office. The two-vehicle crash occurred at 1:26 a.m. on Highway 93, near Loesel Lane in the town of Arcadia, according to a press release. The initial investigation indicates the northbound vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle was later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the northbound vehicle was brought to an area hospital. No identities or descriptions of the vehicles were included in the press release. The crash remains under investigation. The Arcadia Fire Department, Arcadia Ambulance and Mayo One Helicopter assisted at the scene.
Fatal UTV rollover in Ettrick
TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A man is dead after a UTV rollover in Trempealeau County. According to the sheriff’s office, crews were dispatched to Francis Lane in the town of Ettrick just before 6:30 last night (7/10/24). At the scene, they found an elderly man pinned under a UTV and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies believe the UTV overturned while he was driving through a field on the property.
A community fitness center in the works for rural central Trempealeau County
WHITEHALL, Wis. (WEAU) - Work is being done in a room at the Whitehall School District building. “There is no fitness center anywhere for anybody of any age in the community to work out within a 20 mile radius of Whitehall,” said Sami Becker, the nutrition and transportation coordinator at the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Trempealeau County.

A utility-terrain vehicle crash in Ettrick left an elderly man dead Tuesday. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday that an elderly man was found after he did not return home after driving the vehicle. The man was found unresponsive and pinned under a UTV at W27201 Francis Lane in the town of Ettrick.

WHITEHALL — An elderly male died when he was pinned under a UTV on Tuesday, according to the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office. The death was discovered Tuesday night in the town of Ettrick. When officers responded to the scene at W27201 Francis Lane, they found him unresponsive and they determined he was dead at the scene. The initial investigation indicated the UTV overturned onto the male while driving through a field on the property, the press release states. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources was contacted to investigate the crash. The man's identity has not been released.
