Marshland Access to close at Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge for road improvements

TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (WKBT) -- Marshland Access at the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge will be closed to the public starting Monday.

The closure is due to a road improvement project that will improve the roads conditions and provide safer access from State Hwy. 35. Marshland Access will remain closed until the project is complete.

The Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge says the project will help provide safer access to the refuge during flooding. They plan to improve the Main Entrance Road as well.

Starting July 22, visitors will be redirected to the Main Entrance Road. If flooding occurs at the main entrance during this time, all access to refuge will be closed.

Road work is expected to last eight weeks.
