Montgomery County Fair Events for Saturday
(Montgomery Co) The Montgomery County Fair is wrapping up today. The 4-H/FFA Beef Show begins at 8:00 a.m., the Baby Contest is at 9:00 a.m., Supreme Showmanship is at 12:00 p.m., Judging of the Baked Apple Pie Contest will take place from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. with a free pie/ice cream social at the Fairgrounds Auditorium from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.. The Livestock Auction is at 2:15 p.m. The Nite Rider Band will play from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The Demolition Derby begins at 7:30 p.m.
Good deeds on RAGBRAI might result in being 'ducked' by Colorado rider
RED OAK — Riders getting caught doing nice things on RAGBRAI run the risk of getting “ducked” — because Elizabeth Sugar Boese is on the lookout. Armed with 300 rubber ducks she had originally planned to sell during the ride, Boese decided instead to give the ducks out when she sees people doing something nice for others along the route.
RAGBRAI Continues Today Through, Elliott, Griswold, Lewis With a Final Stop in Atlantic
(Atlantic) This morning, thousands of cyclists are leaving Red Oak for a 40.1-mile trip to their final destination in Atlantic. Day 2 of the RAGBRAI will pass through Elliott, Griswold, and Lewis before the overnight stop. Three People Arrested for Assault in Red Oak
(Red Oak) Three people face assault charges following an incident in Red Oak. According to the press release, the charges stem from an incident in the 1800 block of N. 4th Street on Saturday night. As a result of the investigation, Officers arrested 35-year-old Micaela Morales and 35-year-old Douglas Walter Penry, both from Stanton, and 40-year-old Arthur Finton McCarthy of Ankeny.
