Rider Park hosting nature-inspired programs

Trout Run, Pa. — Nature lovers can enjoy a party under the stars, take short hikes, and create nature-inspired art at Rider Park, thanks to the First Community Foundation Partnership.

Participants are asked to pre-register for all events by calling the foundation at 570-321-1500 or emailing, AmyP@fcfpartnership.org . An email will be sent prior to the event to provide additional information. For more information and directions, visit www.RiderPark.org

Family Art

July 30: 6-8 p.m.

Local artist Kate Griffith and Lycoming Arts will explore nature-inspired art. Several types of projects will be available each night. This free event is geared towards family groups.

Please meet at the picnic pavilion.

Library Visit

Aug. 3: 4-8 p.m.

Join James V. Brown Library and the Lycoming County Library System for two events. Multiple activities, a short hike, composting with Full Circle Bioconversion, and other activities are available at the Family Nature Adventure, 4-6 p.m.

The Campfire Hangout from 6-8 p.m. will follow.

Star Party

Aug. 9: 8:30-11 p.m.

Join Central Pennsylvania Observers at Rider Park to view the night sky! We will identify constellations and planets with a variety of telescopes for visitors to use. Please arrive between 8:30-9 p.m. The program will begin at 9:15 pm. Bring chairs, blankets, snacks, and dress warmly.

This is a dry-weather and clear-sky event.

Nature Journaling

Aug. 10: 2-4 p.m.

Lose your inhibitions! Be inspired by nature! Learn how to make quick field journal sketches with Donna Woodland, a frequent hiker at Rider Park.

All materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring your favorite sketching materials, and watercolor paints.
