Edith Synco’s cookbook, “Fabulous Kitchen Traditions, Continued,” is now available.

The popularity of Synco’s first cookbook, “Fabulous Kitchen Traditions,” along with many requests from others, were the encouragement for Synco to compile another book of more recipes to share.

Synco said this second volume cookbook contains more than 450 recipes or more of her favorites as well as those of families and friends.

“Whether you enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, or just enjoy reading cookbooks, you will love the assortment of dishes and tales in this book,” Synco said.

Synco’s second cookbook includes Colleen Hemphill’s gumbo recipe along with a few variations of Edith’s famous bread pudding.

When asked her favorite recipes in the second cookbook, Synco quickly said, the ones from her mama.

“My mama was famous for her divinity candy and her lemon cheese cake, which was always my birthday cake,” Synco said. “After going through the process of publishing two cookbooks, I’ve learned, or relearned, that we all have ‘traditions’ we need to share with others. I’ve enjoyed sharing part of my cooking and serving heritage with others.”

Copies of “Fabulous Kitchen Traditions” are available at Park Memorial Methodist Church and The Home Gallery Troy. The cookbooks are $20.
