    19-year-old charged with illegal weapon possession in Troy

    TROY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Troy Police reported the arrest of a 19-year-old after a pursuit with officers. Ajani Pinder, of Troy, is facing several charges.

    On July 13 around 5:30 p.m., police tried to speak with Pinder after reportedly seeing him commit a violation while riding a bicycle near Third and Congress Streets. Upon officers approaching, Pinder allegedly fled the area on his bike.

    Police say Pinder was caught after a brief chase and was found to illegally have a loaded modified shotgun in his cross-body pouch. He was then taken into custody and now faces the following charges:

    • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
    • Second-degree criminal contempt
    • Obstructing governmental administration
    State Police search for missing Hudson woman

    Pinder was arraigned at the Troy City Court before being remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail. According to police, Pinder was later released after posting bail.
