    Subject in Troy shots fired investigation found dead in Fayette County

    TROY, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in Troy on Friday evening.

    According to Troy police, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1500 block of Sussex Avenue around 6 p.m. on June 28.

    Upon arrival, officers found no reported injuries and determined the suspect had fled the scene.

    Troy PD shared a post on social media explaining that there was no active threat to the general public. Police say the incident was likely to have stemmed from a domestic issue.

    In an update on Saturday morning, the subject was found traveling on U.S. Route 35 by Fayette County deputies.

    “Upon approaching the vehicle, they discovered the the suspect had died due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” said Troy police.
