Early Morning St. Jude Runs Through Dyersburg
Dyersburg, Tenn.–Great to see our friends from St. Jude Runs as they ran through Dyersburg at 1:30 am this morning. This is the 43rd Annual Run to raise money to further the life saving mission of St. Jude and they have raised more than $25.6 million. Tennessee student with disabilities excluded from own commencement, sues principal
GREENFIELD, Tenn. — New information has been released regarding the exclusion of three high school graduates from their own commencement. In May, a petition to fire Greenfield High School Principal Jamie Doster was developed in response to him requiring three students with disabilities to sit in the audience instead of with their class. Kennedy Lee was one of those students, and she has filed a complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The complaint alleges that "This case involves extreme prejudice and insecurity towards persons with disabilities."
