An endangered young female red panda named Little Mebo has been welcomed to the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens, officials said Friday. Man Arrested For Firing Shots Into the Air
On Sunday around 9:43 a.m. Sparks Police officers responded to 1400 12th Street for reports of multiple gunshots heard. When officers found and approached the home they believed the shots were coming from, a man answered the door holding a handgun. He then quickly shut the door and went back inside the home.
Jeanette Mero wins Tevis Cup, daugher Reyna finishes second
In her sixth successful ride, Jeanette Mero can finally claim the most coveted title in endurance riding: the Tevis Cup. The Mariposa, CA native completed her 100-mile journey to Auburn's McCann Stadium at 10:05 p.m. Saturday night to win the 68th Tevis Cup, finishing with a final time of 17 hours and five minutes. Mero had been a consistent top ten finisher at Tevis for several years now and won the Haggin Cup in 2021, but a first place finish had eluded her until this year.

Reno firefighters responded to a water leak. The leak was on the fourth floor of a retirement home. Firefighters say they stayed on scene to help mitigate the problem and make sure power was turned off. They also say several residents were displaced.
