Gypsy Rose Blanchard, aged 32, has been released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center after completing more than seven years of incarceration for her involvement in her mother's murder.

In a surprising turn of events, Gypsy was granted parole, leading to her release on December 28th, three years ahead of schedule. In an exclusive interview, she expressed remorse, stating,

"I'm not proud of what I did. I regret it every single day."

The backstory reveals the complex dynamics between Gypsy and her mother, Dee Dee, who suffered from Munchausen by proxy—a mental disorder involving the fabrication of illnesses or the intentional causing of harm to elicit sympathy or attention. Dee Dee, accused of forcing Gypsy to feign disabilities, held her captive and even resorted to restraining her in a bed when Gypsy attempted to break free.

Dee Dee's life met a tragic end in 2015 when her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, confessed to murdering her. She was discovered lifeless in her Springfield home, succumbing to multiple stab wounds at the age of 48. Both Gypsy and Nicholas were arrested in 2015, convicted of murder and serving a life sentence.

The compelling and distressing story of Dee Dee's murder and the alleged abuse inflicted upon Gypsy gained widespread attention, later documented in the HBO 2017 documentary, "Mommy Dead and Dearest."
