    State police made 38 DUI arrests over Fourth of July weekend: Report

    CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — State police Monday released their final statistics for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

    They tracked data specifically from 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, to midnight on Sunday, July 7.

    • Calls for Service: 5,426
    • Motor Assists: 253
    • Total Violations (unsafe lane change, following too closely, distracted driving, seatbelt, etc.): 483
    • Speeding: 239
    • DUI: 38
    • Motor Vehicle Accidents: 332

    The fatal Trumbull crash happened on Route 25, around 11:20 p.m. on July 3.

    Motorcycle driver dead after crash on Route 25 in Trumbull

    A motorcycle driver was pronounced deceased after his bike was rear-ended by a vehicle.

    The driver was identified as 43-year-old Abraham Martinez of Naugatuck.
