STAFFORD - On July 20, 2024, at approximately 7:45 PM, a motor vehicle collision took place on State Highway 72 eastbound near mile 24.5, involving two passenger vehicles. A 2018 Subaru, driven by Justin Layer, 26, from Barnegat, was traveling east on Highway 72 when a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by Kevin Scoda, 24, from Edison, New Jersey, collided with him. Scoda's vehicle lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a utility pole, while it was engulfed in flames.
