LONGPORT – Members of the Longport Beach Patrol gladly agreed to let Longport’s youngest citizens take the lead during the July 3 Board of Commissioners meeting. Mayor Nicholas Russo was wearing three different beach tags designed by children who live in Longport. That’s one more than the two categories presented to budding artists in the annual beach tag design contest. Normally the children design seasonal and senior citizen beach tags, but this year there was one extra design that couldn’t be passed over.

In wake of the Supreme Court's ruling that presidents are granted total immunity for "official acts," a path has opened for Donald Trump to avoid sentencing for his conviction on falsifying business records to hide an affair with adult film actress Stormy Daniels. According to The New Republic, Juan Merchan, the judge who presided over the hush-money trial that landed Trump with 34 felony convictions, is no longer certain that sentencing, which was delayed to September, will ever happen.
