EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Initially stating that he would be going through the NBA draft process in late April while simultaneously keeping his eligibility open at the University of Arizona, KJ Lewis made the decision in mid May to official head back to Tucson for his sophomore season.

The guard came back to the Sun City in late June to host his second annual youth basketball camp, talking to KTSM for the first time since making the decision to return to Arizona.

Lewis says that ahead of his second year playing at the collegiate level, he’s ready to take on any role head coach Tommy Lloyd needs.

“I’m somebody that is willing to play any role to get the job done,” said Lewis. “I think I’ll need a bit more scoring power, just because the roads going to be bigger. But ultimately, the same thing – just a winner. The same energy, the same competitiveness. This year’s team is going to shock a lot of people.”

Arizona’s roster for the upcoming 2024-205 season will include Lewis along with returner Caleb Love and Jaden Bradley. There are also multiple big names joining the program coming in out of high school.

This will be a big year for Lewis and the Wildcats, competing in its new conference for the first time – the Big 12.
