Tukwila Police Officer injured after suspect rams patrol car with stolen vehicle

A Tukwila Police officer was injured Monday evening, Aug. 19, 2024, after a suspect driving a stolen vehicle rammed a patrol car and fled the scene in the Southcenter district.

Police said the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect crashed into the patrol car before leading officers on a brief pursuit.

The chase was terminated when the suspect began driving the wrong way on the freeway.

The officer involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The patrol vehicle sustained extensive damage.
