The Coupeville Town Council might look into upgrading the town code to address what Mayor Molly Hughes described as the “questionable” use of the public right-of-way. After the Indians put up a seven-spot in the bottom of the first inning, the Frogs rallied to score four runs in the top of the second inning. Following a walk from Josh Hood, Bill Knight and Hunter Fitz-Gerald knocked consecutive doubles to score a pair, and Andrew Miller smacked a two-run home run to left field. Miller’s long ball was his sixth of the season and his fifth against the Indians.
Police identify 2 girls who were with alleged Alderwood Mall shooter
There are new developments in last week’s deadly shooting at Alderwood Mall. Jayda Woods-Johnson, 13, was killed. Two groups of teenagers got into an altercation near the food court around 6 p.m. on July 3 when a person fired a gun, hitting the girl, Lynnwood police Deputy Chief Patrick Fagan told KIRO 7. Police said the girl was an innocent bystander.
American Legion Post 66 to collect food donations for veterans in need July 20
Edmonds American Legion Post 66 will hold a dropoff event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20 to accept donations of food to assist local veterans. Tips sought for 2006 cold-case murders of Seattle mom, daughter hiking near Granite Falls
GRANITE FALLS, Wash. — The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is asking for tips to help solve a cold-case double homicide that occurred 18 years ago. On July 11, 2006, a mother and daughter were hiking on Pinnacle Lake Trail east of Granite Falls and Verlot. They left their Seattle home early in the morning and were found shot dead on the trail later that day, according to the SCSO.
