‘All about accessibility’: Officials celebrate completion of Scriber Creek Trail Phase 2
Elected officials joined City of Lynnwood staff, project engineers and construction workers Monday to celebrate the completion of Phase 2 of the Scriber Creek Trail Project. Completion of the Phase 2 project – which cost $9.2 million – comes six weeks before the opening of the Lynnwood City Center light rail station. Phase 1– still under construction by Sound Transit – will connect the Interurban Trail to Scriber Creek Park along the light rail station’s southwest edge.There is also a planned Phase 3, which will extend the trail from the terminus of Phase 2 just north of 200th Street Southwest to Wilcox Park.
Everett man killed in fatal motorcycle accident
EVERETT—Alexis Hernandez Cerritos, 27, of Everett, died in a motorcycle accident near Russell Way and SR-99 on the evening of July 16, 2024. Cerritos was traveling southbound on SR-99 on his Honda VTI300 motorcycle. An unknown vehicle travelling northbound turned left in front of Cerritos onto Russell Way in South Everett. Cerritos attempted to overcorrect and unfortunately loss control of his motorcycle and died. He was wearing his helmet.

I-5 Ramp from US-2 at Trestle Closing Thursday Night
The westbound US 2 ramp to northbound Interstate 5 will close overnight Thursday, July 18, in Everett for maintenance. From 9 pm Thursday, July 18, to 3 am Friday, July 19, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair sensors along the ramp.
