Tips sought for 2006 cold-case murders of Seattle mom, daughter hiking near Granite Falls
GRANITE FALLS, Wash. — The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is asking for tips to help solve a cold-case double homicide that occurred 18 years ago. On July 11, 2006, a mother and daughter were hiking on Pinnacle Lake Trail east of Granite Falls and Verlot. They left their Seattle home early in the morning and were found shot dead on the trail later that day, according to the SCSO.
Lake Forest Park councilmembers oppose rapid transit improvements on Bothell Way
At their June 27, 2024 meeting, the Lake Forest Park city council debated a proposed letter to Sound Transit opposing a rapid transit bus lane on Bothell Way. The letter, sponsored by Deputy Mayor Lorri Bodi, called the highway a “green residential corridor and city gateway”, and called on Sound Transit to preserve trees and shrubs between 153rd and 165th by removing a proposed northeast-bound bus lane and shrinking a bus station at 165th street. “No other city will face such inequitable impacts,” the letter argued.

More than 30 firefighters put out EV fire at Edmonds car dealership
EDMONDS, Wash. — Firefighters put out an electric vehicle fire at an Edmonds car dealership Thursday morning. The fire was reported around 10 a.m. in an unoccupied EV at the dealership at State Route 104 and Highway 99, according to South County Fire. The car was engulfed in smoke in the middle of the lot, about 50 feet from any buildings, crews said.
