    Time to crown Valley dairy princess, who will it be?

    It's time to crown a princess.

    A talented and tenacious young woman will be named the Dairy Princess of Tulare, Inyo, and Mono counties on June 21 at the International Agri-Center in Tulare.

    Jamison Blanchard lives in Visalia and attends El Diamanté High School. Madelyn Movsesian and Lilyanah Ribeiro both live in Tulare and attend Tulare Western High School.

    All three nominees will begin their senior year of high school in August.

    Jamison is the daughter of Jeffrey and Shannon Blanchard. She plans to attend Texas A&M to pursue a degree in agriculture law with a minor in animal science. Jamison was raised on her family’s dairy, Lawrence Dairy, and has grown up being a part of the agriculture industry. She has shown dairy heifers through both 4-H and Future Farmers of America. Jamison is on the Future Farmers of America Dairy Judging Team and serves as chapter secretary. She is also the senior queen for the Saint Anthony Pismo Beach Portuguese Festa.

    Madelyn is the daughter of John Movsesian and Anna Clinkenbeard. She is an active member of the Tulare Future Farmers of America and is on the Milk Quality and Dairy Foods Career Development Team. Madelyn is serving as chapter secretary, and is also on the Vine Pruning Team and Vine Judging Team. She plays for the Tulare Western Volleyball Team and is involved with her community through numerous activities. Madelyn hopes to attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to major in Agricultural Business.

    Lilyanah, daughter of Michael and Tania Ribeiro. She was born and raised on her family’s dairy, Ribeiro Dairy Farm, which inspired the passion she has for the dairy industry. Lilyanah has shown dairy cattle through 4-H and Future Farmers of America, and has worked in the office of the family dairy. She is the current Sequoia Section Future Farmers of America president and has previously held the office of vice president. Lilyanah is active in her community and church and is a member of the youth performance group, Luso America. Lilyanah would like to attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to pursue a degree in agriculture.

    “The contestants go through an interview process and are selected based on knowledge, background, and the desire to be a dairy princess,” said Anastasia Stuyt, the California Milk Advisory Board Dairy Princess coordinator.

    The winner of the Dairy Princess title and her alternate will participate in professional development coaching provided by the California Milk Advisory Board. She will be the ambassador for the dairy industry for a variety of audiences including the biggest stage of all next winter, the International Ag Expo.
