TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after he assaulted an elderly neighbor who asked him to turn off loud music.

Deputies say the 68-year-old victim heard loud music coming from his neighbor's house across the street on July 25. The victim asked 27-year-old Chase Blackwell to turn off the music, then turned to head back to his house.

The victim said Blackwell started following him and attacked him with a steel pipe multiple times. He was able to return to his house, but Blackwell kicked in the door and threatened to kill him.

Blackwell destroyed the victim's cell phone and property in the house and attempted to take cash from his pockets.

The victim's home health nurse called 911 the next morning after noticing the injuries.

Deputies say Blackwell surrendered himself to the Jail on July 29 and booked into jail for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery first degree and burglary first degree.
