TUPELO — A developer will head back to the drawing board for a planned minor subdivision that both failed to meet some of Tupelo’s new development guidelines and has drawn the ire of several area residents.

The Tupelo Planning Committee met Monday to discuss and potentially provide multiple variances for a proposal along Feemster Road that would see five 1,500- to 1,700-square-foot homes built on a 2-acre plot. After a flexibility hearing on the topic, where residents aired concerns about lot sizes, drainage and “low income housing,” the committee tabled the matter to allow the developer time to redesign the project.
