USD 480 camp geared to help kids make easier transition to kindergarten
Kindergarten is a major time of transition in a child’s life and education, and soon, USD 480 will be helping with just that. USD 480 is currently taking sign-ups for the Kinder Camp for the Class of 2037, and sign-ups will be taken through July 25. Kinder Camp will take place Aug. 1 and 2, with a morning session from 8 to 11 a.m. and an afternoon session from 12 to 3 p.m., and Kinder Camp will be located at whichever elementary school the child will be enrolled in. As Newcomers Center Coordinator Noemi Chavira tells it, Kinder Camp is a very good experience.
SCCC Board of Trustees updates campus facilities rental policy, prepares for 2024-25
The Seward County Community College Board of Trustees prepped for the upcoming academic year at the regular monthly meeting — and they started by attending class in the form of a board workshop provided by the Kansas Association of School Boards. The 90-minute workshop covered all the basics of how elected boards function in the state of Kansas, including a review of recent legislative updates affecting higher education.
