Kalen Deboer has officially made his mark in college football. Alabama has the number two recruiting class and is close to being the number one. After a few more projected recruits commit, they might end up with the number one class. It's a cold summer this summer, as they say!

    10 Caleb Cunningham

Caleb Cunningham, a five-star receiver from Mississippi, is 6'1 and 190 pounds. He is ranked as the number-one receiver in his state and the second-best in the country. Caleb Cunningham told On3. "I don't give a piss about nothing but the Tide!" Alabama is back to being Wide Reciever U.

    9 Dawson Merritt

Dawson Merritt is a long, athletic outside linebacker expected to excel at Alabama. He is a four-star recruit from Kansas, standing at 6'3" and weighing 215 pounds, with the potential to gain more weight once he joins the team. Dawson committed to Alabama over offers from Oklahoma and Nebraska.

    8 Michael Carroll

Carroll, a 6'10", 315-pound four-star offensive lineman from Pennsylvania, comes from a family with a strong sports background. His dad, Michael Carroll Sr., played football for Penn State, while his mom, Letitia Carroll, was a Hall of Fame basketball player for Michigan State. I think improving his muscle mass and technique would greatly benefit him based on what I observed in the drills at the Elite 11 camp.

    7 Jackson Lloyd

Jackson Lloyd, the top offensive tackle from California, is a three-sport athlete with peak athleticism standing at 6'7 and weighing 290 pounds. Lloyd is a four-star offensive tackle who committed to Alabama over Ohio State and Auburn. He said he committed to Alabama because: "What stood out most at Alabama was their winning culture and doing everything to be the best."

    6 Chuck McDonald

Chuck McDonald is another four-star recruit from the state of California. He is a defensive back from Mater Dei who chose to play for Alabama over USC, Georgia, and Oregon. According to 247sports, he said, "I feel like a top priority for Bama right now, and I have a good relationship with the coaching staff." He is another player who appreciates the new coaching staff, which shows that Coach Deboer is building something special and bringing the same culture he established at Washington to Alabama.

    5 Derrick Smith

Derrick Smith, a four-star all-around athlete from Selma, Alabama, is ranked as the number 29 player in the ESPN 300 list. He has the ability to play as a wide receiver and defensive back. He also spent time at Quarterback and linebacker in high school. Smith ultimately chose to join the Tide over Auburn and Arkansas. Smith told On3 he committed to Alabama because, " The program is going to stay on top under coach DeBoer. He knows how to win, he has a good staff and the players are going to play hard for him.”

    4 Justin Hill

Justin Hill is a four-star edge rusher from Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He stands at 6'3" and weighs 220 pounds. He is expected to make a significant impact in college football at the University of Alabama. Hill chose to commit to Alabama over Ohio State, Oregon, and USC. When he spoke to On3 about his committment, Justin Hill said, "Let all naysayers know!"

    3 Darrell Johnson

Darrell Johnson, a highly sought-after outside linebacker from Eastman, Georgia, is a 6'1, 200-pound five-star 247Sports composite linebacker. Johnson chose Alabama over Auburn, UCF and Florida State. Johnson told On3 “It’s like a dream that’s come true,” “Where I’m from, people don’t go to Bama.”

    2 Keelon Russell

Keelon Russell is a highly recruited quarterback from Duncanville, Texas. He was committed to SMU, but Kalen Deboer flipped him. He's dual-threat quarterback, who excels in the run and pass. He won MVP at the Elite 11 camp as well where he was able to show off his arm and jump from a four to five-star. At 6'3 and 180 pounds, Russell has the potential to win a National Championship and maybe even a Heisman at Alabama.

    1 Dijon Lee

Five-star cornerback Dijon Lee has committed to play for Alabama over USC, Texas, and Georgia. Standing at 6'3" and weighing 195 pounds, Lee is considered an elite prospect at the cornerback position. Hailing from Mission Viejo, California, he is the number one cornerback from the state of California and is ranked number four overall.

    Summary

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3eJ1Vk_0uR54DjU00

This is not the full list of recruits committed to Alabama. Currently, Alabama has 21 total recruits, including 14 four-star recruits. More recruits will likely join the 2025 class, including players like Akylin Dear. It's interesting how someone thought to be a poor recruiter is doing a great job and has the number two recruiting class.
