An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that killed a 21-year-old man Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
Jackson Luke Overton of Winfield was charged with murder, said Capt. Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. Overton was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
At around 9:10 p.m., officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department were called to the parking lot of Embassy Suites in downtown Tuscaloosa after a report of a shooting. A man was found dead at the scene, Kennedy said.
The victim was later identified as Howell Booth Holland III of Fayette.

Kennedy said a suspect and numerous witnesses were found and interviewed by VCU.
"No one involved in this incident was staying at or connected to the hotel. The individuals involved were visiting downtown clubs and bars, and had their vehicle parked in the hotel’s parking lot," said Kennedy in a media release.
Investigators say Overton was friends with Holland, but the two had a verbal altercation. Overton retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and shot the Holland one time, investigators believe.
