Alabama Crimson Tide Fall Camp Preview: The Front seven is manned by potential All-SEC linebacker

The Alabama Crimson Tide are only a few days into camp, but the season is less than a month away.
Continuing our preview series on position groups, today we will highlight one of the strongest positions on the roster and one with deep roots in Alabama football history...
The linebacker.
Inside Backers
The Don: Deontae Lawson
Gary Cosby Jr&period-USA TODAY Sports
Lawson leads not only the linebackers but perhaps the entire front seven as the man slated to run the defense from the middle. A preseason All-SEC first-team defense selection, if the Tide are going to be stout against the run, it's because of Lawson.
Lawson isn't just a one-trick pony, however, having eight pass breakups across just 26 contests. If he can live up to the high expectations, not only will he cement his legacy for the tide, but he could catalyze a deep College Football Playoff Run .
Campbell returns to the Tide after making his name known in 2023 where he started in eight games and made enough noise to have some projecting he and Lawson to form what could be the best inside backer duo in the entire conference in 2024, something they may need to be to accomplish the Tide's goals .
Best of the rest
Even though the Tide are going to be in an entirely new scheme under DC Kane Womach, he still employs two inside backers, similar to the longstanding 34 defense that Nick Saban and his coordinators would run versions of.
But that doesn't mean that depth doesn't matter, and luckily for the Tide, they have plenty of it. Justin Jefferson was widely used on special teams last year but could mix in as needed. Behind him is Jeremiah Alexander who also has special teams experience, followed by some freshman three and four-stars, plus an international player transitioning from Germany via Justin Okoronkwo.
Wolf (Outside Backers)
Quandarrius Robinson

Robinson has been waiting patiently behind the edge talent that Tide fans grew to love via Will Anderson Jr., Dallas Turner, and Chris Braswell. As the top-edge defender on the team, Robinson has a lot of weight on his shoulders given the pedigree of that title.
Keanu Koht
Gary Cosby Jr&period-USA TODAY Sports
Koht is looking to make his name known on a stacked defensive front seven, and he will have to prove that early in camp as his lack of experience could hamper how many reps he sees.
Best of the rest
Qua Russaw, Yhonzae Pierre, and Jayshawn Ross round out the room as decorated high school players who have to prove they aren't too green to be utilized in a new defensive structure.
