Fire burning off Keys Road in Yakima
--*Update*-- The latest updates as of 5:47 p.m. is that the fire has burnt about 25 acres, with roughly 60 people working on the fire. The Department of Natural Resources told us it started roughly within 100 yards from the previous Keys Road Fire about two weeks ago. This is a new fire and not a continuation from the previous one.
It's not just humans — dogs in Spokane are also overdosing on drugs
Spokane's drug overdose crisis has ravaged the city, killing hundreds of people and sending thousands to the emergency room. Now it also appears to be impacting dogs. Over the course of just two weeks in May, there were at least three incidents where dogs in Spokane had to be given overdose reversal medication after consuming what their owners believe was fentanyl left on the ground.

Fourth of July Road Closures in Pullman
There will be several road closures in effect Thursday ahead of the annual Fourth of July Celebration in Sunnyside Park. The City of Pullman will shut down Main Street between Skyline Drive and Old Wawawai Road and the entirety of Cedar Street, including its access point on Skyline Drive, around 4 p.m.
Supreme Court Ruling Paves Way for Yakima to Address Homelessness
The Yakima City Council is expected to talk about homelessness this month after the U.S. Supreme court released a ruling that says it's okay for cities to ban people from sleeping or living in public places.The court, in a 6-3 decision, reversed a previous ruling which found banning people from sleeping in outdoor public spaces is a violation of the 8th amendment. The original ruling was made by an appeals court in San Francisco.
Level 1 (Be Ready!) evacuations issued for brush fire near Omak
OMAK, Wash. – A brush fire near Omak has caused level 1 evacuations to be issued for nearby residents. Okanogan County Emergency Management reported that the fire, situated near Sand Flat Road and north of Engh Road, is spreading south, east, and west. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and mindful of emergency vehicles in the area. No information has been given the size of the fire yet.
