MANITOWOC – Parking on Jefferson Street in Two Rivers is being restricted.

The City Council approved an ordinance that created a no-parking zone on the east side of Jefferson Street between 22nd and 23rd streets.

Matthew Heckenlaible, Two Rivers Public Works director, said large vehicles and trailers are often parked in that block, which creates an obstacle for emergency and public works vehicles trying to access the road, which is already narrow.

He also said citizens have reported children darting into the street without warning because they could not be seen as a result of the large vehicles and trailers parked on the street.
