    Big Country fire departments respond to multiple fires caused by fireworks

    BIG COUNTRY, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) — In the past two days, the Tye, Merkel, and View Fire Departments have responded to at least seven wildland fires and one structure fire. The leading cause: fireworks .

    Taylor County issues burn ban ahead of July 4th holiday

    The Tye Fire Department reported that between July 3 and 4, the departments responded to a total of seven wildland fires and one structure fire. The hot and dry conditions in the area made it highly susceptible to ignition. Even a small spark could lead to a major fire, posing a threat to homes and lives.

    “Please continue to be extra careful and use common sense when doing anything that could start a fire. Your actions can protect our community and keep everyone safe,” Tye Fire shared in a post .
