    NFL executive, former player to speak at East Texas Crisis Center luncheon

    TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – Former player and current NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent is the featured guest for an upcoming East Texas Crisis Center luncheon.

As a national leader in the fight against domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, Troy Vincent’s dedication to advocacy and leadership has made a significant impact. This luncheon is more than just an event—it’s a commitment to supporting survivors in our community.”

    As a player, Vincent played cornerback for the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Washington Commanders. In college, he played for the University of Wisconsin–Madison Badgers where he became a first team All-American in 1991.

    In the NFL, he was the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year for 2002, a first-team All-Pro in 2002 and the NFL interceptions co-leader for 1999.

    Beyond his achievements on the field, Vincent has been an advocate for domestic violence and sexual assault awareness. Troy and wis wife Tommi, who serves as the chair of the National Domestic Violence Hotline, launched the Vincent Commission with Niagara University in 2023 to study domestic abuse .

    Vincent has also advocated for the expansion of flag football, mental health services and inclusion in sports. He’s written several op-eds on those subjects and more for the NFL’s website .

    The luncheon will be held on Oct. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center. All ticket costs and sponsorships will go directly to funding the East Texas Crisis Center and their services to survivors of partner violence and sexual assault.
