Notre Dame football misses out on another top wide receiver, Derek Meadows
For a while, Notre Dame football was cruising on the recruiting trail, but recently things have not gone the Irish’s way. On Saturday afternoon, one of their biggest targets, Nevada wide receiver Derek Meadows, made his decision and it didn’t go Notre Dame’s way. The 6-foot, 5-inch and 200-pound prospect committed to LSU, another loss for the Irish at the position.
Federal Sentence for Gun Sale in Michigan City
(South Bend, IN) - A Chicago man has been sentenced on a federal gun charge with ties to Michigan City. In January of last year, 42-year-old Allory Smith of Chicago sold a rifle, a handgun, and ammunition to a buyer in the Michigan City area. According to authorities, Smith referred to the rifle as a “real license to kill” because he believed it had previously been reported stolen. With several prior felony convictions, Smith is prohibited from possessing firearms.
