PHOENIX – Phoenix Rising FC and the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) today announced the release of a new Phoenix Rising specialty license plate, with proceeds benefiting youth soccer programs throughout the Valley.
Specialty plates are authorized by the Arizona Legislature and have been offered since 1989. This new addition brings the total number of specialty plates offered by the MVD to over 100, according to ADOT officials.
“Specialty license plates offer a great way to customize a vehicle and show your proud support for one of these uniquely Arizona organizations,” MVD Director Eric Jorgensen said.
“MVD is pleased to offer the various plates that will have an impact on the organizations dedicated to improving Arizona and our communities.”
Notably, most specialty plates are priced at $25 per year, with $17 of that amount directly benefiting a designated charity or nonprofit organization. In the fiscal year that ended June 30, sales of specialty plates contributed more than $12 million to various causes, according to ADOT.
The Phoenix Rising specialty plate is available to the public, with contributions supporting soccer programs and services for boys and girls in grades K-12, according to Phoenix Rising President Bobby Dulle.
“Our fans have been asking for a Phoenix Rising license plate for years, and we’re thrilled to finally make this a reality,” Dulle said.
“We involved our fans every step of the way to select the most popular plate while adhering to the state’s guidelines. It’s a fantastic way for our fans to show their Rising pride on the road, and best of all, every plate purchased will support our youth programs.”
