A fire sparked Sunday morning and burned through about 10 acres in southern Mendocino County.

The fire sparked around 11:20 a.m. in the 800 block of McNab Ranch Road in Ukiah, according to a Cal Fire-Mendocino incident report.

Shortly before 11:20 a.m. to just before noon, large plumes of smoke could be seen on the ALERTCalifornia cameras in the region.

By noon, though, crews had stopped forward progress of the blaze, which Cal Fire initially said had a “moderate to dangerous rate of spread.”

By about 1 p.m., crews began working to clean up the area, which Cal Fire estimated would last as much as three hours.

There were no reports of any injuries or property damage. A cause is under investigation.
