SP: Impaired Upstate New York Man Left Kids In Hot Car At Walmart
An alleged impaired man is accused of leaving two kids inside a car that was around 100 degrees while he shopped at Walmart. New York State Police were called around 3 p.m., about children locked inside a hot vehicle and "screaming" at the Walmart parking lot located on State Highway 23 in the town of Oneonta.
Woman killed during microburst storm at popular NY campsite identified
A woman who was killed when a large tree fell onto her camper during a severe microburst storm on Sunday has been identified. Carol E. Luistro of Edison, New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene, after the storm tore through the Russell Brook campground in Delaware County Sunday morning, according to the Colchester Police Department.

An unidentified suspect recently stole the identity of a property owner in Otsego County. Using a forged New Jersey Driver’s License, the suspect attempted to sell the property through a local realtor.

A Frankfort man is charged with DWI, among other charges after state police say he was found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle. According to state police, on Thursday, June 27th, state police at Sidney responded to Jericho Road in Bainbridge for a report of a suspicious male and vehicle parked in a driveway. Police say the man didn't belong at the residence.
Camper killed in upstate NY after tree falls on her vehicle during severe storm with 90-mph winds
A woman was killed and others were injured at a New York campground when a severe microburst with 90-mph winds knocked down trees on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The severe microburst occurred around 10:30 a.m. north of Cook Falls, near the southeast edge of Delaware County, when a line of severe thunderstorms moved across New York. Severe Thunderstorm Watches and Warnings were in place Sunday for millions across the Northeast. The National Weather Service in Binghamton’s damage survey team found sporadic damage from the severe weather in Delaware County and northern Sullivan County. A SINGLE ENGINE PLANE CRASHED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON IN A WOODED AREA NEAR TROUT CREEK IN THE TOWN OF MASONVILLE. IT HAS BEEN LEARNED THAT A FAMILY OF 5 ALL DIED IN THE CRASH. THE FAMILY WAS IN COOPERSTOWN FOR A BASEBALL TOURNAMENT AND WERE RETURNING HOME TO THEIR HOME STATE OF GEORGIA. OVER 20 DIFFERENT EMERGENCY CREWS SEARCHED FOR THE PLANE YESTERDAY BEFORE DEBRIS WAS FINALLY LOCATED IN A HEAVILY WOODED AREA NEAR LAKE CECIL ROAD AND HERRICK HOLLOW ROAD NORTH OF TROUT CREEK. THE DECEASED WERE IDENTIFIED AS 76 YEAR OLD ROGER BEGGS, 43 YEAR OLD LAURA VAN EPPS, 42 YEAR OLD RYAN VAN EPPS AND THEIR TWO SONS, 12 YEAR OLD JAMES VAN EPPS AND 10 YEAR OLD HARRISON VAN EPPS. SEARCH TEAMS USED A HELICOPTER, DRONES AND ATV’S TO LOCATE THE CRASH SCENE. THE FAA AND THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD, ALONG WITH THE NEW YORK STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE CRASH.
