A Sidney man knows his fate after he previously pleaded guilty to a drug charge in May. The Delaware County District Attorney says Charles A. Walsh was sentenced to 5.5 years in state prison and 2 years of post-release supervision. He was convicted of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree after admitting to knowingly and unlawfully possessing fentanyl with the intent to sell it in Sidney back in February.

Firefighters quell large blaze at Ben Weitsman scrap yard
GEDDES, N.Y. — An outdoor fire broke out at the Ben Weitsman of Syracuse scrap facility in Geddes Tuesday morning. At 5:58 a.m., the Solvay Fire Department responded to 333 Bridge Street and arrived at a large outdoor fire according to the department's Facebook page. Kevin Harrington, a 50-year-old resident of Oneonta, New York, has pled guilty to charges of mail fraud. The federal indictment against Harrington included two counts of mail fraud, as confirmed by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and Special Agent in Charge Craig L. Tremaroli of the Albany Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
