GEDDES, N.Y. — An outdoor fire broke out at the Ben Weitsman of Syracuse scrap facility in Geddes Tuesday morning. At 5:58 a.m., the Solvay Fire Department responded to 333 Bridge Street and arrived at a large outdoor fire according to the department's Facebook page. Rome residents can soon apply for money from $1 million-plus recovery fund
Rome, N.Y. — Rome residents harmed by severe thunderstorms and a tornado that plowed through the city last week can soon apply to a recovery fund, officials said. About $175,000 has already been raised for the Rome Victims Recovery Fund, according to Anthony Picente Jr., the Oneida County executive. The county plans to contribute $1 million, he said.
