On July 6th, 2024 at approximately 4:15 AM a PO was out with a vehicle at W Main St and Chestnut St. While on duty during the above date and time he observed a white Dodge truck parked in front of 416 W Main St running with a male subject slumped over the wheel. Once arriving at the vehicle PO observed the owner, Christopher Campbell, to be in the driver seat asleep with an opened can of beer in the cup holder beside him. PO knocked multiple times on the driver side window along with shining his flashlight but was unable to wake him for an extended period of time. Once Christopher was awake he stated he had a long day working at the Merchant House and fell asleep. Christopher stated he left there at approximately 12:30 AM that night and went straight home. PO advised Chris it was now past 4 am, and asked if he had been parking there the whole time. Chris then stated he dropped a friend off at home first and got the beer in the cup holder from him. PO advised Christopher that he could be charged with multiple charges. PO issued Christopher a citation for open container and he was advised of his court date. Once the citation was issued he went inside his residence for the night.
