2 arrested after discovery of drugs during traffic stop
UNION CITY – The Union City Police Department is pleased to announce the arrest of Tabitha St. Myers and Jamie Hiestand following a traffic stop on North Howard Street. During the stop, our K9 Blaise conducted a free air sniff of their vehicle and alerted officers to the presence of illegal substances. A subsequent search led to the discovery of methamphetamine and gabapentin pills.

GREENVILLE — The Darke County United Way is once again having its annual Stuff A Bus school supply drive to collect school supplies and distribute them to all Darke County school districts for students in need. Items needed include: paper (wide and college-ruled), composition books, #2 pencils, blue and black pens, erasers, rulers, glue sticks, safety scissors, markers, washable markers, highlighters, post it notes, crayons in 16 or 24 packs, single subject notebooks, colored pencils, pocket folders, calculators, pencil sharpeners, pencil pouches/boxes, dry erase markers, backpacks, lunch boxes, ziplock bags, tissues, and/or antibacterial wipes.
Eight individuals appeared for arraignment
GREENVILLE — Eight individuals appeared for arraignment Thursday in the Darke County Common Pleas Court. Judge Travis L. Fliehman presided. Bobby S. Hicks, 32, of Gettysburg entered a not guilty plea to both count one: aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the first degree and count two: tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree. If found guilty, Hicks faces nine months up to 19 1/2 years and a $30,000 fine. Defense Attorney Randall Breaden entered a not guilty plea for his client, and it was agreed that the $50,000 bond that Hicks posted would be continued. Her next court date is scheduled for Aug. 23rd.
