DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is behind bars after an alleged high-speed pursuit in Darke County.

The Union City Police Department reports officers observed a man named Ryan Reynolds in a vehicle on Deerfield Road, near Sycamore Street in Jackson Township Wednesday night. Police allege that after flashing their lights and sounding their sirens, Reynolds fled the area “at a high rate of speed.”

According to UCPD, Reynolds ended up stopping his vehicle at a residence in the 13000 block of Hillgrove-Fort Recovery in Fort Recovery. Reynolds then allegedly tried going around the side of a barn on the property, but crashed into a scrap pile.

He was taken into custody “without further incident.”

“This arrest is a testament to the commitment of our officers to keeping our community safe,” said Mark Ater, director of Public Safety for UCPD. “We are grateful for their hard work and perseverance.”

Authorities say both the Parole Authority in both Indiana and Ohio were seeking Reynolds.
