WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI -- Webster Township voters are being asked on Aug. 6 to decide the fate of a tax increase to fund the maintenance and reconstruction of roads. The 0.8225-mill tax for 10 years, beginning in 2024, is on the primary election ballot. It would help fund maintenance, reconstruction, resurfacing and preservation of roads in the township served by the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

Man rescued after tree standoff in Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio – Dayton first responders were called to an unusual rescue situation Tuesday when a man climbed a tree and made suicidal threats. Police and fire crews responded to the scene where they found the individual high in a tree, exhibiting erratic behavior. After a nearly two-and-a-half-hour standoff, authorities were able to de-escalate the situation and persuade the man to climb down safely. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
GPD promotes 3, Benge becomes new Police Chief

Lieutenant Ryan Benge was promoted to the rank of Chief of Police. Chief Benge has been with the Greenville Police Department since 2014. Throughout Chief Benge’s tenure with the agency, he has held the assignments of Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Support Services Lieutenant, and his most recent position of Operations Lieutenant.
